- Worked on the house. R. H. Evans came

- Sunday. At home all day. Not
feeling very well.
R. H. Evans came in for a little while. Wether rainy all day.
- Worked on the house after noon. Cut out
door between the
chambers. Rained all night last night and all day today.
Water uncommon hy.
- Worked on house after noon. R. H. Evans
left here.
Cleared off today, but snowed a little this evening.
- Worked on house. Orson drawed bark.
G. K. worked with
Mr. Hill on road. Cold and blustering.
- Worked on house afternoon. Mrs. Tubs was
in here a little
wile. Took C. A. Burdick's sheep home. Wether clear but
cold.
- Worked on the house. Mother is worse and
has been for
several days. Wether fair fore noon and cloudy sfter noon.
- Worked on house. Berthy went to A.
Brewers to party.
Snow fell about a foot deep last night. Is very cold and windy
today.

Berthy and George
went to Colegrove. Wether fair.
- At home all day sick, not able to work.

well. Perve Hill's
baby buryed today. Wether cold and rainy.
- Still unwell and unable to work. Mutch
better this

- Worked on the house. Put down carpet in
front room.
Orson and Mrs. Zimmerman went to Colegrove this evening. Wether
cloudy with little snow.
- Helped put down carpet. Mary Evans' baby
boy born about one
o'clock this morning. Mary Zimmerman and I was here alone with
hir. Mrs. A. P Brewer and Mrs. C. D. Gallup came soon
after. Doctor came about 5:00 o'clock. Wether sunshine and
cloudy.
- Stayed in room with mother or wife most of all
day. Wether
milde but cloudy with a little snow.
- Helped about the house. Mrs. Brewer was
here to do up the
work. Wether mostly fair.
- Worked on the house some. Made sled road
for A. C.
White. Received oficial notice about Pension claim is done.
Wether is very cold. 10 below, snow.

letter to J.

- Made slead robe for A.C. White. Went to
Smethport.
Sent vouchers for pension to Pittsburgh. Wether cloudy with south
wind.
- Rote letter to Caroline. Took the baby
first time.

- Fixed slead for Mr. Hill and A.C. White.
Orson finished
haulling bark for A. C. White. Wether cloudy and warm with a
little rain.
- At home with bad headache all day. Wether
warm and rainy.
- Went to Colegrove. Got pump fixed.

cooler, cloudy with a little snow.
- Went to Farmer's Valley. Took H.
Cleveland sheep.
Went to Smethport. Wether cold with a little snow.
- Sunday. At home all day. Mrs.
Brewer was here and
Hatty went home with her. Mary was moved into the front
room. Doctor Freemon was here to see Mary. Wether cloudy
and cold with a little snow.
February, 1886
- At home. Not very well. Orson went to Smethport
after
medicine for Mary. Wether cloudy, cold.
- Received check for $562.00. Pension money.
Doctor Freemon
was not here for me to go to Buffalo on the 4.
- Went to Smethport. Got check cashed. bot overcoat and
drawers and
overshoes from D. C. Young. Left $400.00 with D. C. Young in
deposit. Took his receipt. Wether fair but very
coald. Orson killed sheep.
- At home all day. Got letter from H. H. Warner.
Set the
brass clock to running. Wether cloudy with ocasional sunshine but
very coald. Mercury down to 20 below zero.
- Went to Colegrove. Paid taxes to A. C. Gallup and P.
Colegrove. Paid Ottis $5.00. Got hay off Wm. Evans 500 for
$4.00. Wether clear but very coald. Mercury 24 below zero.
- Went to Smethport. Got horses shod, got ton of fead,
got flannel
shirts, got oil cloth. Orson got cutting box. I got George
a book. Wether cloudy, little snow.
- Sunday. The baby sick this afternoon. Zimmerman
went away
today. Wether clooudy.
- Orson got 1/2 ton coal. I bot one bag of buckwheat
flour from A.
P. Brewer at $3.80. Zimmerman folks came back today. Wether
fair.
- Built hen house today. Took things out of shop.
D. S.
Patterson was here - after me to go to Buffalo for D. S. Freeman.
Wether fair and sunshiny.
- Went to Buffalo. Stopped at the Bensler House.
Went to get
hair cut and then went to Corthouse. Chet Burdick was on the
stand giving his testimony. After supper rote a letter home then
went up to Binnet's Theatre. Wether fair.
- Went to the cort house. At the cort house nearly all
day.
Wether cloudy but warm.
- Went to cort house. In cort all day. Rote home
in
evening. Wether fair in morning, rain just at night.
- Went to cort house. In cort all day. In evening
bot collar
and cuffs and collar and cuff buttons. Wether rainy.
- Sunday. Stayed at hotel til noon. Went to
Niagara
Falls. Crossed the suspension bridge into Canady. Went up
to the Hot Springs. Went down under the falls. Went around
to the whirlpool rapids. Took supper at the Weston Hotel, Niagara
Falls. John Salt & Son got back to Buffalo 9:00 in
evening. Wether rainy all day.

Caroline's.

- Went up to Mrs. Rifles with Orson. Wether changeable,

- Went down to Johns. J. G. Cook paid judgement.

- Sunday, at home all day. Wether snow 1/2 inch deep
then
morning cloudy and snowed a little most all day.
- Went to Colegrove. Drove the white mair the first
time. Got pair of pants, $1.25, got medicine from Buffalo.
Wether cloudy commenced snowing about 4 o'clock and snowed very past 9
o'clock. Still snowing. Mary Zimmerman's father came to see
hir today. Orson went to Smethport after feed.
- Made a pair of whiffletrees. George sick.

mixed snow and rain all day.
- Went down to Johns. Bot tub of butter, 23 1/2 lbs. 23
cents
per pound. Wether snowing a little all day.
- Put iron on whiffletrees. Got 500 lbs. hay,
$5.00.

- Went in sugarbush this forenoon. Worked fixing
table.

- Went up to Cook's camp to see a horse. Got corn

- Sunday, at home all day. Children all went in the

- Hitched the two horses together. Drove to

Maty and Harry coming down with whooping cough. Wether fair.
- Sunday. Stayed at Caroline's last night. Went to
meeting. Went down to E. Buckley's and went to Orsens and
Orens. See Mr. Hodges. Stayed at Orens. Wether fair.
- Bot horse off E. Goodrich and pig off E. Buckley. Came
home. Traded gray mair for hay horse. Wether fair.
- Got horse shod and commenced plowing. Wether fair

- Went up to Rifle camp. Went to Colegrove. Got

- Went down to John's. Got feed oats. Drove the

- Went to see Rifle about trucks. Went and blowed out

plowed. Wether fair. Griffth hitched on to G. Evans.
- Went to Smith and Halls. Got some lumber. Orson
got
horse shod. Got my buggy fixed. Wether is sunshine and
rain. Rained last night.
- Went to Hamlin to help W. Brewer to put sills under
house.

- Went to Hamlin. Helped W. Brewer on house.Heavy frost

- At home all day. Not feeling well. Orson, George

Berthy went to Annin today. Got letter from R. H. Evans.

- Went and got buggy tier set and ate dinner at
Kimballs. Wether

- Worked fixing stable. Mary and I went up to Genesee to
see Mrs.
Bates. Wether fair.
- Sunday. Went to the Big Bridge. Berthy went with
me.

- Went to Smethport with the mair. Got the pump
fixed. Paid
G. A. K. quarterly dues, $1.00. Wether fair.
- Made water trauth and took it on the hill. Set it at
the
spring. Fixed the pump in well. Wether fair and very hot.
- Worked in garden and howing potatoes. Wether
fair.
- Worked howing potatoes. Wether fair.
- Went to Colegrove, got a sack of flour. Went to
Hamlin, got some
stone pipe from schoolhouse. Wether varyable; some sun, some
cloudy with heavy shower at 6 o'clock.
- Went to Wm. Rifles. Went to Colegrove. Wether

- Sunday. At home all day. Wether fair.
- Went to Wm. Rifles. Bot mowing mashine off Wm.
Rifles. Went
down to Smith and Halls. Got feed. Went up to Biehlers and
got horse rope. Commenced haying at 11 o'clock. Wether
fair. Frost this morning killed potatoes and buckwheat on the
flat near the creek.
- Got all the hay in above the road and load from below.

- Worked in the barn. Fixed scafold. Put paint
barril in the
barn. Wether rainy. Heavy rain last night.
- At home all day. Not feeling very well. Wether
showery.
- Went up to Dickerson's. Made garden gate. Wether
cloudy, no rain.
- At home all day and feeling very poorly. Received a
letter from
Caroline and from Olive. Orson got our lode of hay into the
barn. Whether fair til just nite, lite shower.
- At Kane all day. Orson, George and Hatty went to the
Big
Bridge. The ----- his horse here on the 13th and got his
buggy. Wether fair.
- Put roof on stoop. Mowed some grass with sythe.
Raked and
drawed in hay. Got the hay out of the swamp. Mowed may weed
along side the road.
- Went to Colegrove in forenoon. Raked and got in hay in
afternoon. Sold sum hay to G. Perry. Wether fair.
- Fixed pump this morning. Stired hay. Orson
finished
mowing. Put mashine away. Reked and cecked up rest of
hay. Wether quite cloudy.
- Got up this morning feeling quite poorly. Loaded two
lodes of
hay. Went to Colegrove. Orson finished haying. Sold 1
tun to Mr. Clinginswirth and 1/2 ton to C. A. Anderson. Wether
fair.
- Went to Smethport. Paid $30.00 on Orson's judgement
and had note
against W. E. Windsor recorded. Wether fair.
- At home all day. Wether fair.
- Went out to the Big Bridge and took Mary. Bertha had
nose blead
when we came back. Wether fair.
- Rote letter to P. H. Parker about schoolhouse and Frank
Gallup's wife
to teach this school. Orson went to Smethport after medicine for
Bertha. Wether showery.
- Went to Smethport. Let Hamlin have note against W. E.

to pay for note. Got the mair shod and went to Caroline's.

Tomey Knapps

- At home til just at night. Went to hire a girl.

Bertha.

for Bertha Orson cut our field of oats. Wether fair.
- Bertha very sick. Went to Turtlepoint after Dr.
MacDougall.
Had him and Sharpe here together. Drove to Turtlepoint and back
betwean 6 and 9 o'clock. Wether rained all the afternoon.
- At home all day. Dr. MacDougall here. Mary sick

- Went to Turtlepoint. Wether showery.
- Went to meeting and went and got a hired girl. Wether

- Filled out transary to send to Semthport. Sowed turnip
seed in
garden. Orson got his oats in. Wether fair.
- Worked at making bark rack for Orson. Sent transcript
to District

- Finished Orson's rack and got my first Philadelphia
paper.

- Mary and I went out to Olive's to see hir baby. Found

- Sunday. Rote letter to Chase Brothers and returned
order for
trees. Wether cloudy and coald.
- Cut some wood. Don chores. Went to
Colegrove. Got box
of medicine. Wether cloudy.
- At home all day. Wether snowy nearly all day so men
could not
work.
- At home all day. Wether to coald for me to go
out. I think
it is the coldest of the seson.
